I, Matilda Florence Schleicher Roventine, made my entrance into the world on June 3, 2002 (which makes me a Gemini) at 10:34 a.m in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 20.5″ long.

I was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome 20 weeks before I was born. This basically means the left side of my heart didn’t form properly. Thanks to the talented doctors and staff of Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Heart Clinic, I would go on to have the three successful surgeries on my heart.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has shown, and continues to show, such overwhelming support, love and generosity toward me and my parents. Your prayers, good thoughts and well wishes helped make my arrival such a positive experience and make me feel very special indeed.

My likes include school, reading, singing, creating, being silly, helping, cooking and all kinds of games . I’m not a big fan of being told “no,” spicy food, cool swimming pools or forgetting to charge my MP3 player.

I currently live in West Saint Paul with my parents Jodi and Mykl, my little sister Lucy and our two cats Oscar & Cosmo.
